Just arrived
I’m in Belize! Arrived in Belize City around noon, then took a 3 hour bus ride to Dangriga. This country has personality, and I love it! The “highway” (aka narrow road, if I was driving on that road I would have killed us) was definitely a scenic route. The Mayan mountains are breathtaking, and all the houses are bright colors. A ton of beautiful flowers, too. Once we checked into our hotel here, we took a walk around the town. The ocean’s about a 5 minute walk from our hotel, and a river runs right through the center of the town. I love it so far, such a beautiful country——
but it’s HOT! Oh my goodness, it’s like one of those ridiculously unrelenting hot days in July in the South. The remnants of my make-up leftover from traveling all sweated off. I put on sun screen, that sweated off, too. I figure I’ll just get used to it, it was kind of nice after the 40 degree weather in Collierville this morning. I really can’t complain, I’m in Belize!!!
